Talks on junior doctors’ dispute to resume

The Irish Medical Organisation and the Health Service Employers Agency are due to resume talks on the junior doctors’ dispute at the Labour Relations Commission today.

The Irish Medical Organisation and the Health Service Employers Agency are due to resume talks on the junior doctors’ dispute at the Labour Relations Commission today.

Last Friday, non-consultant doctors voted by 97% in favour of industrial action as part of a dispute about rosters and working hours.

The row has already led to strike action in Waterford and Tullamore after hospital management introduced controversial new rosters which reduced the number of hours junior doctors work between 9am and 5pm - their prime training period.
