Health boards not using money-saving system

Three Irish health boards do not use the ‘direct access surgery’ system, despite the fact that it saves both time and money.

The system for surgical referral is used to a limited extent in the north-east, the north-west, the mid-west, the south and in Dublin, but not at all in the west, the midlands and the south-east.
