Students 'shunning computer courses'

Irish students are turning their backs on computer courses and opting for more traditional subjects, according to university figures published today.

Uncertainty over the future of the information technology industrial sector, generated by high-tech job losses in the past year, are thought to have led to students turning away from computer-linked subjects.
