Govt urged to investigate prisoners in UK
The Government is being urged to question the safety of Irish nationals in British prisons.
According to the Celtic League, the death rate of Irish prisoners in Britain is higher than any other nationality.
The Department of Foreign Affairs has said that it is now concerned over the many deaths.
In an inquiry at Brixton prison, it has emerged that 50% of prisoners who died while in custody were Irish.
The Celtic League claims the deaths may be in part due to institutional racism.
