Police in the US have arrested a man in connection with an alleged attempt to abduct a 19-year-old Irish woman in the town of Myrtle Beach in South Carolina.

The student from Co Louth was allegedly grabbed from behind and knocked to the ground by a man who pulled up near her earlier this week.
