Prison officers top public sector pay scale

Prison officers are the highest paid workers in the public sector, according to figures from the Central Statistics Office.

Prison officers earned around €1,100-a-week, including overtime, in the 12 months to March this year, compared to average public sector earnings of €700-a-week.
