The President of the Irish Farmers Association, John Dillon has rallied farmers who have staged a surprise protest outside a meat plant in Co Louth.

The farmers are angry with AIBP - Goodman group, for alleged steadily falling prices paid for cattle for slaughter.

Mr Dillon told protestors in Ardee that they were being ripped-off.

Larry Goodman's AIBP plants were named by the IFA earlier in the week as the lowest paying factories for R4H bullocks in the country.

The accusation came as cattle prices fell for the seventh consecutive week.
