Cork gardai: bank raids may be linked
Gardai in Cork investigating an armed raid on a bank in Innishannon on Tuesday afternoon now believe the men are part of a Cork City gang.
The two men, in their twenties, escaped with €2,000, before making their getaway on a motorbike in the direction of Bandon.
Gardai believe it may be linked to another armed robbery on a post office in Bishopstown in June, due to the similar nature of the two crimes.
In both robberies a motorbike was used for the getaway, and in each case the motorcycle was later found burnt out.
Gardai are anxious speak to anyone who was in the Knockavilla area on Tuesday morning, and who may have seen anything suspicious.
Anyone with information should contact Bandon Garda Station on 023-41145.
