Gardai issue traffic alert for Louth

Gardaí in Co Louth are warning motorists that there will be considerable heavy slow moving traffic in the north of the county this evening, between 6 and 9pm, particularly north of Dundalk.

This is due to the departure of 1,800 tractors from an event in the Cooley Peninsula this afternoon.

Motorists using the N1 should expect delays and those travelling back to Armagh from Croke Park are advised to use the N2 via Ashbourne, Slane and Ardee as an alternative route.
