Penalty points system to deal out harsh punishments

Transport Minister Seamus Brennan has warned that harsh punishments should be expected for bad driving practice once the penalty points system comes into operation in two months time.

The system, which is modelled on the UK’s system, will be established one year ahead of schedule.
