Frank Shortt disappointed at lack of apology
Frank Shortt has expressed his disappointment that the Garda Commissioner and the Minister for Justice have not as yet offered an apology to him or his family.
He said: "What Sally, my wife, myself and the rest of my family are a little bit disturbed about is that the Minister for Justice and the Garda Commissioner have not bothered to telephone me or my wife and say we apologise, we’re sorry."
Mr Shortt claims senior people outside the gardai were involved in a conspiracy which led to his conviction for allowing drugs to be sold in his club.
The Court of Appeal ruled that the conviction was a miscarriage of justice earlier this week as a result of the garda's actions against him.
