Emergency landing at Shannon
A plane has made an emergency landing after getting into trouble in mid-air near the midlands. This morning, A Lauda air jet travelling from Canada to Italy was forced to divert to Shannon.
There are reports that a warning light in the cockpit of the plane forced the captain to shut off one of the engines and divert the flight.
There were one hundred and sixty nine people on board the aircraft, including the plane’s crew. The plane landed safely at the airport and engineers are now carrying out a full examination of the aircraft.
