Ahern urged to answer questions on ‘spin machine’

Fine Gael has called on the Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, to answer questions before the Dail on the number of 'spin doctors' employed by his office.

According to reports this morning, Fine Gael chief whip Bernard Durkan has challenged Mr Ahern to answer questions on the matter before the Dail Committee chairmen. The challenge was prompted by a statement made by British Prime Minister Tony Blair on Tuesday, when he said:
