A woman appeared in court today in connection with the abduction of a six-year-old girl believed to have been shot dead by her father before he killed himself in a house at Clonmel, Co Tipperary, in August last year.

A woman appeared in court today in connection with the abduction of a six-year-old girl believed to have been shot dead by her father before he killed himself in a house at Clonmel, Co Tipperary, in August last year.

Regina Nelligan, 33, was charged at a District Court in Tallow, Co Waterford, with intentionally detaining Deirdre Crowley to remove her from the home of her mother in Cork, in December, 1999.
