Gardai inquiry report to be viewed
Another investigation has been launched into the crime detection rate in Waterford.
It is understood that an internal inquiry found that gardai were probably correct in their interpretation of guidelines for recording the crime rate in the county.
However, a leaked document from the report has shown crimes were considered detected even if no conviction or court proceedings had taken place.
In that case, gardai said they were satisfied they knew who was responsible.
A report from this inquiry has been sent back to the senior gardai responsible for carrying out the further investigation.
