Trimble demands definition of IRA ceasefire
Ulster Unionist leader David Trimble has given more details of what actions he expects the British government to take to prevent another crisis in the peace process.
Mr Trimble wants Britain to declare objective guidelines defining the IRA ceasefire and proposals for sanctions against Sinn Fein if those guidelines are breached.
He also demanded that this action be undertaken before July 24.
Speaking in the British government’s House of Commons today, Mr Trimble said it should not be left to Northern Secretary John Reid to decide if a ceasefire had been breached.
