Implement benchmarking immediately - Howlin

Labour are calling on the Government to implement the benchmarking recommendations on pay immediately.

Labour Finance spokesman Brendan Howlin wants the independent body’s review put into action to stop internal debate in the public services.

Mr Howlin commented that certain lobbies inside the public service will be pleased with the recommendations and others will be disappointed.

He wants the Government to stop any clashes among public service groups by pushing ahead with pay increases as quickly as possible.
