Public services warned about high prices

The Director of Consumer Affairs has issued a warning to doctors, dentists, publicans and restaurant owners who appear to have hiked up their prices since Ireland joined the Euro.

Ms Carmel Foley warns that traders will be dealt with for taking advantage of vulnerable consumers since the introduction of the European currency.

The warning comes after a report that shows Ireland has the second highest cost of living across the eurozone. The Director of Consumer Affairs insists that its time for business people in this country to account for the unnecessary price rises.
