Students leave after blast bomb attack

Six college students have decided to move out of their home in south Belfast after loyalist paramilitaries threw a blast bomb through the window of the house last night.

The students, who are both Protestant and Catholic, were not injured in the attack on Tate’s Avenue.

Although the area has a loyalist reputation, students from nearby Queen’s University are increasingly looking for affordable homes there.

However, local paramilitaries have allegedly become involved in intimidating students out of their homes in what they regard as one of their "strongholds".
