Cox to announce huge pay increase for Irish MEPs

Pat Cox, the president of the European Parliament, is set to announce a massive pay increase for Irish MEPs, more than doubling their current salaries.

At present, Irish MEPs earn around €55,000 per year, but Mr Cox wants to increase this to €114,000 as part of a plan to harmonise pay rates for all MEPs.
