Ahern says stadium site not decided

The Taoiseach has indicated that the proposed national stadium may not be built in Abbotstown.

Amid speculation that the facility may be moved to a site in Dublin 4, Bertie Ahern told the Dail that a process of consultation is ongoing and other interested parties are entitled to put forward alternative venues.

He added that a decision on a home for the stadium will be made in the coming weeks.

"I've stayed consistent to my word on this that the national sporting bodies involved in this should be able to express their views on this to the new minister", Mr Ahern said.
