Cowen reassures Reid on IRA ceasefire

Foreign Affairs Minister Brian Cowen has told Northern Secretary John Reid that there is no evidence that the IRA is attempting to rearm.

Dr Reid is believed to have expressed concern today that the IRA was involved in orchestrating recent street clashes between rival loyalists and nationalists in east Belfast.
