Clergymen's homes attacked in Antrim

Police in the North are investigating separate overnight attacks on the homes of Protestant and Catholic clergymen in Co Antrim.

Several windows were smashed at the home of a Church of Ireland rector in Gleneavy, where a car windscreen was also broken.

The Rev Earl Storey, who was at home with his wife at the time, speculated that the attack might be linked to a book he wrote calling for the church to sever its ties with Orange Order marches.

Meanwhile, a smoke canister was thrown through the window of a Catholic parochial house on the Rock Road in Lisburn.

A flare canister was also found on the road outside the house.
