Man remanded for sexual assualt

A rapist who previously served seven years of a 10-year term has been remanded in custody for sentence for sexually assaulting a young woman in the early hours of Millenium Eve.

Luke Egan's vicious attack was stopped by a passing motorist who, accompanied by the victim, then followed him from Mespil Road along the Grand Canal and over Portobello and Harold's Cross bridges.
