One in every eleven Irish women will be affected by breast cancer according to the Irish Countrywoman’s Association.

The Association has launched a nationwide campaign to raise awareness of the disease that affects nearly ten per cent of Irish women.

As part of the campaign, the ICA are hosting a series of fun runs in every county across Ireland in an effort to raise funds for cancer research.

The group hopes to donate the proceeds of the drive to the National Cancer Research Unit in University College Galway.
