Ahern receives seal of office

Bertie Ahern has received his seal of office as Taoiseach for the second time.

Mr Ahern met members of Government and state including Mary McAleese in Aras an Uachtaran for the ceremony.

All attended a meeting behind closed doors in the building with a champagne celebration that lasted for just under half an hour.

Mr.Ahern said that he was looking forward to the work ahead with his new government.

His new cabinet will meet President McAleese later this evening.
