The European Union has agreed to increase dairy supports by a third, a move that has been welcomed by the Irish Farmers Association.

IFA president John Dillon said good progress was made at the meeting of the EU’s dairy management committee in Brussels today and he called on co-ops to respond to the increase in dairy supports by keeping the prices they pay to milk producers at current levels.
