Man charged with Galway murder

A 51-year-old man has appeared before a special sitting of Galway District Court in connection with a fatal stabbing in the city.

The man was charged with the murder of Patrick Shaugnessy, aged 28, of Coogan Park, Galway.

The body of Mr Shaughnessy was found in a house in the west side of the city yesterday morning.
