Murder hunt launched after Dublin shooting

Gardai in south Dublin have launched a murder investigation after a man in his late 20s was shot dead in Drimnagh last night.

The shooting happened just before 11pm in the front garden of a house on Kilworth Road.

Gardai said the victim died at the scene, which has been preserved for technical examination.

A post mortem is also due to be carried out later today.

Gardai are currently searching for a shotgun believed to have been used in the killing and have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
