Defence Minister Michael Smith is due to review 212 Irish soldiers in Cork today before they depart for UN peacekeeping duties in Ethiopia and Eritrea.

Defence Minister Michael Smith is due to review 212 Irish soldiers in Cork today before they depart for UN peacekeeping duties in Ethiopia and Eritrea.

The troops will conduct patrols to provide a UN presence in the two counties and to administer aid to the local population.
