Fine Gael's Deirdre Clune has lost her seat in Cork South-Central.

Her loss adds to a dreary picture nationwide for the main opposition party, with just 21 seats won so far.

Meanwhile, Fianna Fail have gained strongly in Carlow-Kilkenny, with the addition of two further seats for John McGuiness and MJ Nolan.
