FF and FG go head to head in Kildare North

The first tally has been completed in North Kildare, and early trends suggest the Minister for Finance Charlie McCreevy’s (FF) seat is safe as predicted.

Emmet Stagg (Lab) is coming second so far, with 21% of the vote and the fight for the third seat is likely to be between Bernard Durkan (FG) at 17.5% and Paul Kelly (FF) at 16%.
