Labour says Ahern lacks leadership

The Labour Party has accused the Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, of showing a lack of leadership over the controversy surrounding alleged garda heavy-handedness on Monday.

At least 12 anti-capitalist protestors were injured when gardaí baton-charged around 200 protestors in the Dame Street area. One officer has since been confined to desk duty.
