FG slams delay in paying child benefit increases

Fine Gael has described the Government’s delay in paying child benefit increases as a cynical ploy designed to garner votes during the general election campaign.

The increases, announced in last December’s budget, were due to come into effect in April, but the Government delayed their introduction until this month.
