Silvermines benefit from €5m clean-up plan

The first ever plan to rehabilitate a former mining area was published this evening for the Silvermines area in Co Tipperary.

The €5m plan is expected to take four years to complete and involves dealing with waste and water problems, re-seeding bare areas and improving the safety of abandoned mine workings and shafts.
