Noonan slams Government health record
Fine Gael has slammed the outgoing Government’s record on health, accusing ministers of throwing money at the health service without any effort to address the causes of problems in the sector.
Speaking in Co Westmeath, party leader Michael Noonan said: “Over the past five years, when they
should have spent their time reforming our health services, they threw money at the problem without tackling the root causes of what was wrong.
''They more than doubled the health spending, from three billion to eight billion, yet the service is just as inefficient as ever it was and is falling as far short of people’s needs as it ever was before.”
