Dáil back as election looms

The Dáil returns after the Easter recess today, but only for a matter of days.

It now seems likely that Taoiseach Bertie Ahern will not dissolve the Dail to allow for the general election until next week.

This will pave the way for polling on May 17.

Today, the Dáil will debate the events leading to Bobby Molloy's resignation, with the opposition expected to concentrate on the Minister for Justice's role in the affair.
