Health boards examine extent of 'mass graves' policy

Health officials throughout Ireland are examining official records to establish the number of psychiatric patients who were buried in mass graves.

The move follows reports that thousands of people with intellectual disabilities, who were also in institutional care, were buried in unmarked graves throughout most of the last century.
