Inflation rate rises to 4.8%

Ireland’s inflation rate rose by 0.1% in March to 4.8%, according to figures released today by the Central Statistics Office.

The rise was less than expected, with economists predicting an increase of up to 0.5% because of last month’s 1% increase in VAT.
