Five in hospital after building collapses in Cavan
Five construction workers have been taken to hospital after a roof collapsed at a building-site in the centre of Cavan town.
The five suffered various injuries including broken limbs, but none are considered life-threatening. The accident occurred as concrete was being poured at the rear of building on Farnham Street. It’s understood the slab of floor above the workers gave way.
The site has been sealed off this afternoon while Health and Safety officials carry out an inspection. The five men are all believed to be from the local area.
The accident happened at the rear of the Farnham Hotel which faces out onto the main street in Cavan Town.
