Noonan welcomes decommissioning, but questions timing

The Fine Gael leader Michael Noonan has welcomed the IRA move on decommissioning.

However, Mr Noonan questioned whether it was aimed at boosting Sinn Fein's election chances in the Republic.

He said that the decommissioning is "significant", but added that the timing of the move has also to be taken into account.
