Teahon made fall guy: Flanagan

Fine Gael's Charlie Flanagan has said Paddy Teahon was made the fall guy for the Aquatic Centre fiasco, in a piece of 'political cowardice and buck passing'.

The party's enterprise, trade and employment spokesman said: "Statements of remorse over Mr Teahon's departure are an exercise in hypocrisy punctuated by massive sighs of relief.

He called for Taoiseach Bertie Ahern to make a statement before the Dail on his involvement in the saga.

Mr Flanagan added: "Fine Gael is calling for the ordinary business of the Dail to be suspended this

evening so that the matter can be debated in full."
