Teahon relieved of Sports Campus Ireland posts

Paddy Teahon has been relieved of his role as CEO and chairman of Sports Campus Ireland.

An assistant secretary in the Department of Tourism, Tom Haugh, has been appointed as interim chair of the company, while the Government has decided to offer an official, as yet un-named, to act as the chief executive.

Mr Teahon remains on as a board member.

Mr Teahon has not yet given his reaction to the move, which follows the furore over the awarding of the aquatic centre contract to a holding company with few assets.
