Belfast burglary 'could be inside job' - Flanagan
Ronnie Flanagan has given the biggest hint yet that he believes the raid in which documents were taken from Special Branch offices in Belfast was an inside job.
He insisted last night that the burglary in Castlereagh police station in East Belfast last Sunday night could not have been carried out by paramilitaries or civilians.
Chief Constable Flanagan is under the impression that the raid "was carried out by people who expected to get more" and left disappointed.
Speaking to the Sunday Life newspaper, The Chief constable conceded that there was still a lack of intelligence in the investigation to narrow down lines of inquiry.
Since the embarrassing raid, the head of the North’s Police Service has received phone calls from people concerned for their security after the theft of the files.
