Report calls for Dail participation from Northern MPs
The Oireachtas committee on the Constitution has said that MPs from the North should be allowed to contribute to Dail debates related to the six counties.
In a report released today, the committee also recommended that the Taoiseach should appoint four senators from the North, but it ruled out the possibility of Northerners voting in Irish presidential elections.
The committee had examined the Dail and the Seanad and how people from the North might play a more active role in political life in the Republic.
