Taoiseach 'deeply concerned' by Castlereagh break-in
The Government has reacted to the break-in at Castlereagh Police Station in Belfast.
The Taoiseach says he is deeply concerned by the incident, in which top secret files were snatched in what most experts believe was almost certainly an "inside job".
The North's Chief Constable has insisted that documents stolen from Special Branch offices in east Belfast on Sunday did not include the names of informants.
Ronnie Flanagan said that no names were on missing notebooks, despite warnings from the security forces that a number of informants' lives were in danger.
The Northern Secretary, Dr John Reid, is to appoint a senior intelligence chief to head up an independent probe into the raid at Castlereagh later today.
