Fine Gael is demanding a Dáil debate after it emerged yesterday that the company hired to run part of the controversial Campus Ireland is allegedly a ‘shelf company’ with assets of just stg£4.

Sports Minister Jim McDaid received a report into the matter last night. Fine Gael’s Bernard Allen said: "It’s simply unacceptable that €57m of taxpayer’s money can be committed by a Government to a major public project like this without knowing who is the beneficial owner of the company involved.
