The Associated Craft Butchers Organisation is calling for the levy to be removed on all bags used by butchers.

ACBI Chief Executive Pat Brady says the measure is a complete mess.

The Association has written to the Minister seeking consistency in food safety principles by allowing a total exemption on food safety and hygiene grounds for all packing used to wrap or carry fresh meat products.
