Polling day for abortion referendum

Voting will begin in the abortion referendum at 9am - the third vote on the issue in less than 20 years.

The poll is a bid to clarify legislation that has remained confused for the past decade following a ruling by the Supreme Court that a 14-year-old pregnant rape victim could travel to Britain for an abortion in the X-case.
