Schools to stay open despite ASTI action

The Minister for Education Michael Woods has said he is confident secondary schools will not face closure during the teachers' dispute over substitution and supervision duties.

The assurance came after some school management boards expressed concern they may have to close for safety reasons after the ASTI action takes effect on Monday.
